I was born on
April 24, 1934 in Yerevan in the family of an employee. I received his primary education at Yerevan Panos Terlemezian college, entering the painting department in
1949 and finished it in
1953.
In
1953 I entered Yerevan Fine Arts-Theatrical Institute and graduated from it in
1959. During my education years I studied with professors A. Bekarian, V. Shakarian and E. Isabekian.
From
1960 I gave lessons at Fine Arts-Theatrical Academy, at present Fine Arts Academy, combining the post of the head of the Fine Arts chair of Yerevan Road Construction University.
I participated in almost all republican exhibitions, all-Union, as well as numerous foreign exhibitions. I had individual exhibitions in Yerevan, other republics of the USSR, in Moscow, Lvov and Baku. I also had individual exhibitions abroad in Warsaw, Buna and Belgrade. The last individual exhibition I opened in Yerevan in 2004 with 250 works.
I participated many times in general exhibitions in all continents.
I have been a member and chairman of numerous committees.
In my work especially I consider important the frescoes of St. M. Mashtots church in Oshakan by proposal of Catholicos with painter H.Minasyan in
1961-1964. I basically repaired the same fresco on the eve of church celebration in
2001.
One of the most responsible works that I have done with great dedication that was the end of the uncomplete part of Rebirth" of the triptych "Vardanank" by Grigor Khanjian, which was assigned to me and lasted more than two years.
This is my biography in brief.
