He was born on April 17, 1940 in Leninakan (now - Gyumri).

Economist, sociologist, from 1997 he's Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor, full member of the Academy of Humanitarian Sciences.

In 1964 he graduated from the Economic faculty of Yerevan State University, in 1970 - post-graduate of the Economic faculty of Kiev State University, in 1997 - doctorate of Sociological faculty of St. Petersburg State University.

In 1970-1974 he worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the ASSR.

In 1974-1978 he worked in RA People's Control Committee, in 1997-2003 - in the Institute of Philosophy, Law and Sociology of RA National Academy of Sciences.

From 2004 up to present he works in the faculty of Sociology at Yerevan State University as Head of the chair "Sociological Activity and Sociological Technologies".

From 1997 he's a member of Problematic Scientific Council of Philosophy, Law and Sociology of RA National Academy of Sciences, at the same time from 2000 - jointly specialized scientific council member Yerevan State University and Philosophy, Law and Sociology of RA National Academy of Sciences honouring scientific degrees.

He's an author of about 80 scientific works, including 6 monographs of educational manuals, educational-methodological instructions, as well as articles published in scientific journals in the cities of Yerevan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Riga, Tashkend, Tallinn and other cities.
Married, has two children.
